Every Day We Fight Beginner Guide

Start with turn-based positioning, manually aimed shots, and reactions across both sides of a turn. These are the core systems behind the resistance squad's encounters.

PositionExploration happens in real time, while combat uses turn-based tactics. The official store describes using positioning, cover, and the environment to shape an encounter.
AimTake direct control of shots by aiming down sights. Position, aim, reaction time, firing angles, and obstructions affect whether bullets connect.
ReactResistance fighters can react to allies and enemies across either side's turns: intercept movement, assist allied kills, or scramble away from incoming fire.
Three fightersThe squad is a trio of civilians fighting an alien invasion inside a time loop. Current official screenshots identify Vivian, Leo, and Dylan.

Every Day We Fight 1.0 Update

Version 1.0 left Early Access on October 22, 2026. Separate its new arsenal, mission types, and endgame mode from improvements already delivered during Early Access.

Full releaseThe Steam store lists October 22, 2026 as the full release and July 10, 2025 as the Early Access release.
New in 1.0The launch announcement introduces five named guns, 52 new gun parts, Ambush and Sabotage missions, and Forever War mode.
Run varietyCombat zones reshuffle each run. The update also reworks combat rewards and character progression.
Already improvedThe announcement describes customizable difficulty, manual and in-combat saves, fast travel, and click-to-move as improvements made during the Early Access journey, not all as brand-new 1.0 additions.

Every Day We Fight Weapons

The current game lists 12 unique guns. Five named additions in the 1.0 update expand the arsenal with an explosive launcher, a heavy machine gun, a flamethrower, and two sidearms.

BoomerAn explosive launcher added in version 1.0.
ShredderA heavy machine gun whose accuracy climbs the longer the trigger is held.
RoasterA flamethrower described in the launch announcement as setting targets alight.
StumperA shotgun sidearm added in version 1.0.
RiptideA full-auto pistol sidearm added in version 1.0.

Every Day We Fight Gun Parts

Weapon customization expands in 1.0 with 52 new parts, including 13 epic parts with unique perks. These are additions, not the total number of parts in the game.

52 additionsThe 1.0 launch announcement explicitly lists 52 new gun parts.
13 epic partsThirteen of those new parts are described as epic parts with unique perks. This does not mean the game contains only thirteen perks.
Current total scopeThe current Steam store advertises over 100 gun attachments and parts across the full game. That overall catalog is distinct from the 52 additions.
Loadout choicesCombine weapons, skills, attachments, and parts to tailor each character's loadout.

Every Day We Fight Heat and Missions

Ambush and Sabotage give players more control over Heat in version 1.0. The official update frames Heat as a risk-and-reward choice: harder fights can bring better drops.

SabotageSabotage missions push Heat higher in exchange for the prospect of better loot.
AmbushAmbush missions bring Heat back down when encounters become too dangerous.
Risk and rewardHigh Heat means harder fights and better drops. Sabotage and Ambush let you push that risk up or bring it down.
Changing zonesCombat zones reshuffle each run, so the official 1.0 description does not support presenting one static route as a universal solution.

Every Day We Fight Forever War

Forever War is the post-campaign mode introduced with 1.0. The official announcement describes continuing through zones and bosses while difficulty permanently increases.

After the campaignBeat the campaign, then continue into Forever War according to the 1.0 announcement.
Rising difficultyClear zones, defeat bosses, and survive as difficulty ratchets upward permanently.
Keep your gearOne officially described option is to continue with existing gear.
Reset optionAlternatively, reset to level 1 with a dart gun and a teleporter.

Every Day We Fight Progression and Saves

The 1.0 progression rework ties advancement to combat and offers rewards after every fight. Manual saves, in-combat saves, and customizable difficulty were added during the earlier development journey and remain relevant when comparing old guides.

Combat rewardsThe 1.0 announcement says progression is linked to combat, with rewards offered after every fight.
Optional explorationExploration remains available, but the launch announcement says it is no longer necessary to continue character progression.
Across loopsThe current store states that newly acquired experience and skills remain through new time loops.
Save improvementsOfficial launch notes recap manual and in-combat saves as Early Access-era improvements; do not apply old checkpoint-only descriptions to the current version.
